My very first duck was a blue swedish drake - the SWEETEST duck ive ever owned. I could go out and pick him up out of the pool whnever i wanted. but then agan he was my only duck so we bonded. But still - very sweet.
Dude i love them i breed them they come in blue black and splash all three colors interbreed very nice birds i absolutly love mine i cant say enough good things about mine they are just the best ducks ive owned and by far my favorites!!!!

here are some babies i hatched off in october from the big black drake from the first picture.....the blue babies are from the splash drake and the older black hen is the mom!!!!
My family had a blue swede drake who was named "Dinner" for obvious reasons. He was so sweet, my brother-in-law couldn't do the deed when the time came. Dinner lived on to make many little Dinners. 'Nuff said.
I raised Blue Swedish back many years ago when I was a 4-Her and I loved them. Some of mine were exceptionally nice ducks. My "pet" duck for several years was a Swedish. If you are looking for a calm, dual-purpose breed that is attractive, they are a great option.
