I think the whole bail out is a giant load of buffalo crap!

to all of them.

My 17 yr old is going to college in the fall. I did my best to get him to choose a field that can't be easily exported. It took a lot of thought.

And bus driver, garbage collector, plumber, hair stylist, etc. Of course those fields don't employ that many people.

I think my next car will be a Ford.

lol i cant afford a ford..i am lookin at a horse.. grass and feed is cheap compared to gas..lol

DH is a GM auto tech. THANK GOD that he works for one of Rick Hendrick's dealerships and it is a good sized one that DIDN'T get one of those dreaded "you are no longer a dealership" letters. In the 17 years that we've been married I never once worried about his job security... not until the last year or so that is.

No kidding. Getting on as a dealer tech is supposed to be secure. They have a real investment in you with all the specialized training. The country has changed a lot since I was 20.

We have an H1 hummer (which has been paid off for 2 years - THANK GOD!!), which we now pay GM for the parts instead of AMG... The parts have SKYROCKETED in price since they are filing! Same product as always, costs up to 450% more now - NO joking. We carry spare parts for off roading, just went out today with some friends, and the subject actually came up because they had to get a few things to restock!! WTH?!!! I don't think they should be allowed to do that - now the consumer is paying EVEN MORE for their mistakes!

On another note... Don't buy a ford... At least not a Deisel. We have an '05 F350 and before it hit 100,000 miles we had 3 new motors, 2 turbos, and 2 transmissions. NONE of this was our fault - trust me, they sent a guy from the actual factory out to inspect the truck to make sure of that!! Oh, we now have 76,000 miles on our 3rd brand new motor, and we just paid over $3000 to have the same stupid stuff fixed that caused it to self destruct the first 2 times

The best part is we had to borrow the $ from my parents to fix it (how embarrassing!

I think the gov. needs to start spreading the bail out $ to the people of this country!

Sorry I think I got going a little bit there!

I think in 5 years GM wont exsist. If the gov't can't run the post office efficiently without losing everything how can they possibly run a auto company? All the auto companies, all the banks and insurance, should of gone bankrupt. Next we're gonna bail out CA. The Terminator's state is wayyyyy "too big to fail".

welcome to socialism.
