I believe in systems that work. Pure socialism doesn't work but democratic socialism does. Look at Sweden. Free market is a joke too and quite obviously doesn't work. Unfortunately corporations know what strings to pull on people to make them blind to what is best for them and put more money in the stockholders pockets. So yes I believe in democratic socialism. I'm allowed to do that right.
"Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths."
-James Madison
I Pledge allegiance to the Flag
Of the United States of America,
And to the REPUBLIC for which it stands,
One nation under God, indivisible, with LIBERTY and justice for all.
Our founding fathers were almost all against a democracy. Jefferson compared democracy to mob rule and said it was destined to fail. BUT, having said that: democracy is not what we have. What we have done and allowed to be done to us was the development of a very selective oligarchy masquerading as a democracy. The followers of Milton Freidman have done their best to create a .01% group of people who control everything and thus control us. Until we relinquish some of these ideas and recognize that this system is failing we will not move onto new ideas.
Until we realize that one way or another we are all in this together and "if we do not hang together we will surely all hang separately". Franklin
