sounds similar to mine.i have some morning shade from some large trees.plus mine sits in the middle of a garden.with no afternoon shade.and also i have alumit tarps.they are woven out of some type of alumium material.that reflect the sun.i have these hung on the west side of the run.and they really help with the cooling.(i paid a small fortune for them).their run is a lot cooler than the coop but they insist on roosting in the coop.

I have a roost system in the run and in the coop- they pick themselves.
