This hen is supposed to be a Maran mix. Any guesses on what the mix could be? She's gone broody and I'm wondering what the offspring will be like.

I'm actually wondering now if there's any Maran in her. Would a Maran mix lay a dark egg? Her eggs are not very dark. This is the nest she snuck away to make. Her eggs don't look dark enough to be a Maran mix, do they??

That's quite the stash, lol. If you are going to let her nest there you may want to check the eggs over, it looks like the one in the front is cracked. She's a pretty bird!

She's been sitting. We didn't discover the nest until she didn't roost in the coop one night. She wasn't there for the head count. I knew she was making frequent trips to the barn and that's where we found her. Friday will be 21 days since she started to sit.
