I recently got 3 Windows to add to my chicken coop.. Now I have 3 windows, but was only going to use two.. One is large and the other two are medium to smallish windows. They are all antique type windows (ex pic below)..

When trying to determine the placement of the windows the idea was brought up to put them crooked or at silly different angles.. I kinda like this idea, but not convinced..

What do you think?? Place them straight or fun crooked???

You can if you want, but if the angle is enough to be obviously silly (as opposed to barely-perceptible, like maybe you just had a few too many the night you put 'em in) it will affect how the windows operate. They will not open/close smoothly especially as time passes, and they may very well drain oddly and cause rot in the bottom-sides of their framing where it otherwise wouldn't happen.

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

Sadly, I agree with Pat....sadly, because crooked is fun

However, if you found a couple of small window that you didn't plan to open, and placed them crooked and then had a larger window that you placed "normally" and could open, that might work...?

Or you could make openable "window-looking" silly-crooked windows by doing up a window panel with wood and plywood, with battens and all to look authentic, and then just hinging it on from the top, with a stick-type system to prop it partway open. That way you get silly AND openable, with no significant structural issues
