I have a Styrofoam incubator we use as a hatcher. I been just using bleach on it but im wondering whats the best option since ive been having some mushy chicks. Not sure if its the hatcher or a few eggs were too dirty.
Also do you guys wipe eggs off with a damp towel that are dirty? I was always affraid it would seal off the pores.

I use bleach, that is what my instruction manual said. 1 TBS per quart. Same thing to clean soiled eggs, but the water needs to be warmer than the egg and you need to dry it off. Lots of people will tell you not to clean the eggs, lots will tell you too. Most will say not to hatch soiled eggs.
