I walked in today with 13 eggs in my pocket.

Crazy I know.

I've broken plenty of them.

When I was a kid I used an old used Ice Cream bucket that had a handle on it or a wire basket with a handle.

I can just hear you.

" Yes Mr. Store Mgr. I brought these from home. I'm not helping myself to store eggs"

I bring in the treat and water bowls every night, to clean and refill, so I just carry the eggs in them.

Egg carton, boring, i know!

I'd love one of those covered wire baskets from the feed store but can't justify spending $18 when free egg cartons do the job

I have a large wire egg basket that must be 100 years old. It's from my grandparents' farm in Wisconsin, and I've had it for years, using it as a magazine rack. I can hardly wait to put it to use for its actual purpose!

Usually the eggs get gathered in my pockets, then as I make my way through the dog yard I pray none of them break in my pocket. The dogs LOVE eating the fresh eggs, and they pretty much know when there is a cracked one they get it. I have also used pet food bowls, buckets, baskets, small plastic or cardboard fruit crates(the kind strawberries come in), etc etc etc. Pretty much anything that is handy and I am taking inside with me anyway.
