What do you use to keep the girls out of the veg garden?

I buy the 3 feet tall, 2"x3" green vinyl coated welded wire from Lowes and use 4' 3/8" rebar for posts from the concrete dept and fasten with 4" black zip ties from the electrical dept. It has worked real good for us. Easy to set up and take down and blends in with the scenery.

My birds scratched and tore up my gardens and my compost piles. I had just planted some new plants and before I knew it they were destroying them. It was either fence in the gardens or the chickens. The chickens lost but they have a nice fenced in yard now. The white wire is electric wire for predatores. Before I put it up, a neighborhood mutt dug under the fence and killed on of my hens.
