I was just thinking of starting a similar thread.

Seems if someone asks for something for themselves these days, they're seen as selfish. I look at it like this... the things I ask for/need, I need/want them so I can accomplish more, be better, and do better, for myself, for my family, for my community, and for the world around me.

Dear Santa:

I have been a good girl this year. I want some really good quality gardening gloves, a Whiz-Bang chicken plucker, a pressure canner, several bags of excellent quality gardening soil to amend my garden, wood for raised beds, a watering wand, a soaker hose, a new gate/fence to keep the chickens off the porch, and the materials to expand our fence back another 20 feet or so and divide the front yard in half, to give the chickens more room. I would also like a supply of plants and necessary materials for planting/creating a beautifully landscaped "edible" yard. I could also use a new tire for the wheelbarrow to replace the flat. Oh, and I need someone to work on my scooter for me and get it running again.

Thank you in advance, Santa. I've been a really good girl this year.

Love,
HHandbasket

I asked for a left handed .22 auto rifle with a scope.

Brother asked dad for a roku box.

One sister asked me for a electric frying pan.

Her daughter asked me for a alarm clock.

Step Mom asked me for flannel sheets.

Still working on the others.

Another egg basket, a video game, and some clothes and that's pretty much it. Oh, a TSC gift card. A Turkey book too. I've actually just been really brainstorming on how I want to improve my chicken operation, which will have to wait until the weather is nice again, so way after Christmas (plus I plan on buying that stuff myself, so I guess that doesn't really count.)

If you lived closer.. I could give you that christmas gift. As it is I'm gonna be a couple thousand miles off for another 4-6 weeks.

I would love my son who I rarely see come up to the farm & bring the grandbaby. The boy is now one year old. I keep telling my son to bring him up to the country. I don't wanna go to the city. I mean it only makes since to bring him up here. We could ride around in my golf cart, fresh air, the little boy could pet the chickens & look at all my Bob Whites, coturnix, play in the dirt whatever. I have a hundred acres there's plenty to do. Seems it would only do the boy good. Sons excuse I don't wanna load all his toys & stuff up. The little boy doesn't need all that junk here.
I remember when my son was one- heck I would open up the door full of pots & pans & he would play with those. Toys are for city kids.
