Today (or really, 20 minutes ago) I learned how well I do not waste money. I sat down to figure our income junk from last year so I could do our taxes. I think we OWE on top of it. I penny pinched like no one's business as much as I could. I took on any extra work, and I paid every bill with a struggle cutting down just to the basics, because I had to.
My big splurge was 2 weeks ago when I went on a wild spending spree at the local thrift shop on jeans, because I lost 20 lbs and had nothing that fit me any longer. I left feeling a bit of guilt because I was out $20 that could have went to groceries or gas. I haven't really got to spend any mad money on anything other then chickens in the last year. Hubby went nutz at the game stop store, and bought 3 games at $3 each because they only came in sleeves & no cases. He's been junking out on video games for the last week, so unbelievably happy. Even he told me he felt a little guilty, and thought 3 was going over board.
Sadly, we don't think twice on spending on our daughter, and I like buying her a little toy now and then. She even brings her own quarters to the grocery store from her piggy bank to put in the machine. She tells mama to save her money "I got this mom, I saved my money" she says.
I raised a good girl who knows the value of a quarter!
I am still in shock we survived the last year, I honestly don't think we could have done that for a whole nother year!
I won't be changing my penny pinching ways any time soon... I can promise you that. Maybe I'll save enough we can finally have a honeymoon in 2015! That will be our 10 year anniversary.
