What do you wear on your feet, to the coop ?

I have big knee high rubber pull-on boots...they go only back & forth between the house & coop...no trips off my land to other spots that may harbor those killer germs! I also do not allow others to enter my coop area with their street/farm footwear as this is also considered an entry point for those bird viruses too.

Before the substantial boots, I wore knock-off crocks...but tired of the shavings getting inside the shoe & having to shake them out so often. oh, by the way...my foot wear is referred to as "poo boots"

I wear my Croc knock offs (they're Airwalks, from Payless) pretty much everywhere. I like being able to wash them off so easily - I've been known to wear them in the shower after mowing.
I got addicted when I discovered that I could wear them to work and walk on concrete for a 9 hour shift without my feet, knees, and back hurting anymore!!!! They are very slippery if you have to walk on wet floors, that's my only complaint. They are also not much protection if you drop stuff on your feet - so I just learned to move my feet out of the way.

I have a navy blue pair and a black pair, I don't go for the wild colors. I wear black or dark socks in cool weather, and wool socks in the winter.

I have a pair of knee-high rain boots that I wear sometimes when the grass is all wet, because it keeps the bottoms of my pants from getting wet cos they take forever to dry out and it annoys me when they touch me (I'm really short and I cut the grass pretty high)

I have a slew of old navy clearance cart flip-flops. I keep a pair at every enterance and exit to the house. Easy to wash, and since they only cost $1, no worries if they get broken.

Unfortunate side effect: since I have so many pairs in varying colors, my son is always impressed when my shoes match.

I only have 2 hens, and my dogs(chihuahuas) running around outside and pooping. I just wear flip flops from the dollar store. If they break, go spend another dollar. Its that easy. I never EVER hard poop on my feet though. Only on the sole of the sandals

Close-toed, sturdy shoes!!!

Just a month ago, I went out to the barn in the early morning to do chores wearing only slip-on sandals, like I usually do in the summer months (and as I have done a million times). But this time, just my luck, I opened a heavy barn door over the top of my exposed toes.

I did a lot of damage.

The doctor who patched me up actually recommended that I wear steel-toed boots from now on!!!

cheap crocs with socks on my feet. basically thats whats worn everywhere(at home) and I can change my socks often and spray off crocs(if needed!) but I realize thats not the brightest way to run around.

I am so glad to discover this thread! I have a pair of knock-off crocs that I started wearing. They were my DM's and I kinda inherited them when she passed. They are the ugliest things. Pink with little white skull and crossbones all over them. My peeps like to peck at the skulls. Pink is not me but when I put them on they were soooo comfortable that I wear them all the time. I am no fashioneesta but when I looked around I saw NO ONE wearing crocs.

I wasn't really surprised as I am always behind the times. So glad to see alot of people are wearing them!! I have a bad habit of not caring what anyone else thinks and I "do my own thing".

Is anyone else like that?
