Hi! {{waves}}
My 6 yr old daughter has 3 silkies; a black girl, a splash boy (he's a month younger but FAR more bigger than she is and his wattles are sorta burgundy in color, so we're assuming girl/boy on them), and also a partridge. IDK sex, but it's slow growing like the black one was (2 mos younger than the black), so I'm assuming it's a girl, too. Problem is? I can't stand partridge colored silkies. I don't want to buy more just to go with her, so if someone comes along who wants to buy her, I'd let her go. I will also prob. build a mixed run for misc. chickens and just keep her in a pen and just either eat the eggs out of that pen or sell them as barnyard mixes.
Anywho - I just bought her a doz eggs from someone on BYC and they just arrived in the mail yesterday. We're really eggcited about setting them and seeing what all hatches and growing them out! (like who isn't, right? LOL!) These are the egg colors that arrived: 4 buff/red (she keeps her buffs & red in the same pen and says she has some really nice red roos in there. I can't wait!), 2 paint (paint roo over paint hens), 2 paint/black (black roo over paint hens), 2 blue splash, 2 gray, and finally 2 porcelean. She also said she has grays and porceleans in together making the champagne color. What colors of what I've listed do you think would run good together so I don't have to have 8 seperate pens? LOL! Can paint & splash go together or is that going to mess it up? And what would happen if I put red and/or buff in with a splash or a paint, will you get red paint? I've heard that splash is blue and that you can't get any other color BUT blue splash, but can you get red paint or other colors of paint aside from just black?
