what does an early crow sound like?

LOL i can relate. One of my roosters has started (trying) to crow. It sounds so funny. If I now have one testing his vocal cords then I know the other two aren't far behind and thus.. neither should the hens long now in laying eggs! they are now 15-16 weeks old. I am now keeping a eye on their behavior and will watch to see if the roos start fighting each other and seeing how soon i need to separate them. 4 hens and 3 roos...things will change here soon.

All of my roos have sounded like ERRR-Arrh-ER and my little Buff Japanese does a Errr-Arrh-ER ...... ER. It is hilarious.

In a similar thread I posted that I had one little cockerel trying to crow at an unbelievable 2 weeks! But usually not so young.
To me it sounds like a sneeze then a backwards ooga horn when they begin to crow. Suppose it depends on the breed. We only have bantams so full size could be different.

I'm eagerly awaiting Masala's first crow too! Though I heard it this morning but it was one of the hens at the backdoor begging.
I'm worried he might attempt his first crow (he's 17 weeks now) when we're on vacation. I'd be so sad if I came home and he was crowing normally.

My EE roo (Bugle Bart) is now 11 weeks, he has been crowing since he was about 6 weeks old (in our basement). At first he sounded like a really bad bugle horn. Now he has a different kind of crow and at the end he sounds just like a bag pipe loosing air. It is so comical. I just hope his early dominant behavior doesn’t point to an overly aggressive rooster.

My barred rock roo first crowed and I thought it was the dog next door moaning. I actually got a bit angry that the neighbor must not be taking good care of him.LOL. The next morning I was at the coop when he did it. I am not there now but a friend says he sounds like a youdler. I can barely wait to get back home. I have been gone for 5 weeks. She even let me hear him on the phone. I thought I would cry I want to get my hands back on him so bad. Gloria Jean

Our 9-week-old Barred Rock tried his first 5:30am crow this morning.

Oh, my.

It sounded like three chickens dying.
