Sorry I'm new to chickens and I'm confused when I see BBS Black Copper Marans? Can some one please explain. I feel dumb.
Thank you,
Fred

OK does that mean all three varieties are available? Or the chicks could be 1 of the 3 varieties?

Yes, if someone breeds a blue black splash flock, that means that the chicks that hatch will be blue, black, or splash. Black is recessive, splash is dominant, and blue happens when they carry one copy of the dominant gene and one of the recessive gene. So if you have only a splash rooster over your hens, you can never get black, and if you have only a black rooster, you can never get splash.

Thank you so much for the explanation. I really do appreciate it.
