What does "Bock Bock BA-GOCK!" mean?

Mine don't sing. My rooster sings that exact same warning call when they lay though. He stands outside the coop ramp/door and does it over and over and over until they come out of the coop. I think he believes they are in danger. It's also the same sound he makes when you are chasing him trying to catch him, he sees a 'predator' (10lb almost blind white cat) or when his #2 lady jumps off the 5 gallon waterer, tips it over, crashes into the metal pan and he almost has a heart attack.

When 'chaos' is breaking out in the main coop, my little tiny Mille Fleur d' Uccle rooster is just crowing his little heart out trying to chime in from his coop/run. The rest that are in the small coop with him usually just stand there watching the panicked older ones like "What are they freaking out about? It's a bag of pine bedding"

Oh my goodness, it's so funny because it's so true!

I heard somewhere that chickens have over 30 vocalizations. I'm glad that I'm not the only person who has tried to identify even a small portion.

I forgot an important one from a hen:

RAAAAWWRRRR! = GO AWAY! I'M BUSY!! (peeping into the nesting box and the hen\\s havent finished laying the egg).

OMG, I totally just got this one today from my Red SL Carmelita. I opened up the nesting box and there she was: "Rrrraaaaaaawrrrrrr" O_O I got the heck outta there before the dinosaur ate me!

That is actualy somewhat acurate in my experience. You must spend a lot of time with those hens, Ms. Mendoza.

My hens are 16 weeks old and I had never heard that "call" before the last three days and I suspected it was "I just laid an egg call" and sure enough, this morning I heard it again and ran out and sure enough there lay my 3 rd egg, still warm. While in the coop earlier, that same hen was making a lot of fuss and squaking constantly, I suspect she was telling me get out of here I need to lay, I did and she did.
