Im a Christian and a firm believe in Christ, and I hope and believe with all my heart that I will be reunited with all of my pets in Heaven. I dont know what I'd do without em, I love them too much. I better have a million acres because I've had quite a few pets! And no matter how evil some people may think snakes are, mine are going to be up there with me as well.

I don't want to get into the whole religion thing but if there are no animals in heaven because they have no souls, then I don't see how heaven can be that great. I don't want to offend anyone but I am such an animal person that how could you have this wonderful place called heaven but have no animals there. So in my opinion, if there is a heaven then there must be animals there. I have had many pets and if I have a soul then so do they. I am sorry if I offended someones religon, but I can't see this wonderful place with no animals. How boring it would be to me if you never got to see animals again!!

Isaiah 11- 6-8

In that day, the wolf and the lamb will live together
the leopard will lie down with the baby goat.
The calf and the yearling will be safe from the lion. and a little child will lead them all.
The cow will graze near the bear
the cub and calf will lie down together
the lion will eat hay like a cow.
the baby will play safely near the hole of the cobra
yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes without harm.

Isaiah was thought to be the greatest prophet.

Now, how I reason it--Nothing to do with souls. We were created in God's image. We were given free will (therefore we sin). We are the ones,b/c of free will, who have to make a choice (thanks to Eve)that decides whether or not we go to heaven. Do we choose Jesus? Or do we choose sin. the animals do not need to choose., b/c they have not sinned. They will go home to their Creator.

miss_thenorth, thanks for that passage. I think it says it all. I have also heard that because animals have no souls, they will not go to heaven. I have come to realize that if it isn't in Scripture, then it isn't true and a human made it up to suit their own idea or translation of Scripture. I believe we will see our beloved pets in Heaven. What harm is it to believe in that! Very great topic!!

Thank you!!! I love that passage, and was hoping it would be brought up. I, too, am Christian, although I do not attend church, or pray on a daily basis (forgive me), but, I believe also that since animals do not sin, they will accompany us. I also agree that without my animals, Heaven would not be the best place for me. My animals are my babies, and I would not be in "Heaven" without them. Steph

I dont know if this has been mentioned yet, and I dont have time now to read all 4 pages, but in the bible, it DOES state that in heaven, the lion will lay with the lamb. I believe that animals....good ones... go to the same heaven we will.

I believe that all living beings have souls, dogs and cats..... I don't believe in hell. I believe when we die we join our loved ones and my loved ones include a lot of animals that have passed. When I die I will have all my dogs and cats and chickens and mice and rats and goats and so on there waiting for me. All the animals and people I've loved in my life will be there.

The
link is to a great poem that mentions dogs and Heaven.
I am a Christian and grew up in church. All my life I have been told animals do not have souls. I think that's the justification people use for eating animals and for treating them worse than they treat other humans. My beliefs are based on the fact that the Bible never states that animals do not have souls and on what I have observed and what I have come to believe based on prayers and personal feelings....I believe that any creature that can feel and show love has a soul because love comes from the soul. Think of how your dog looked at you. If that's not love, what in the world is? Think of the dogs who have died protecting their owners. That's not love? That's not a soul? There is no doubt in my mind that dogs and other animals have souls. And what creature on God's green earth could possibly have a soul more pure and good than a dog? It might be a cliche, but all dogs DO go to Heaven. How could it be called Heaven if there were no animals there?? I don't want to spend eternity anywhere that I can't have my beloved pets with me.
