What Does His Behavior Mean?

Thank you so much for complimenting my Baby Boy on his looks. I think he's very pretty, too! He sure doesn't look to me like his daddy could have been the White Leghorn, which the son told me was the sole rooster there, save for a Silver-Laced Sebright rooster. With his strange coloration, I have to wonder whether that Bantie might, indeed, have been his Papa???

When this chick hatched he was smaller than the other 2 Roos who definitely show White Leghorn parentage, but bigger than the Bantie, which would make sense, if his Mama was an Orpington and his Papa the Bantie?

Here is a picture of the StepMama (Barred Rock) and the Silver-Laced Sebright Bantie, taken on Tuesday. Does the Bantie appear to be the normal size for her breed for 9 weeks? The son said he has only the 1 Sebright chicken, the rooster. He had 5 hens but one got trampled by a goat, another drowned in a bucket of water, and 3 got eaten by his friend's dog.

But I can't imagine how this chick could be so tiny if it's mother was a large breed like an Orpington, or how she could have such distinctive Sebright coloration if her parents were not both Sebrights? Is it possible?

Or does she appear large in size for a 9-week-old Sebright?

Zues is a Blue Orpington, and A Gentle Giant ! I got the eggs from Tuffoldhen her on BYC . He looks a little funky cause I clipped his wing and he was going though a molt at the time of the picture, Thankyou I think he is beautiful too, and such a good boy! and he got frostbite on his comb thats why it doesn't look right.

I am worried about my Roos getting frostbite on their combs this winter. Does Vaseline really help prevent it?

And here is a pic of my Cutie-Pie when he was only 7 weeks old. Does he look at all Bantie-ish in it, to you? Note how his head is the blue-silver coloration and how the Sebright's head is solid dark. I'm wondering whether my Boy's mom was a Buff Orpington (the gold shade to his feathers would be about right), and the Papa was the Bantie Sebright???

He doesn't look bant-ish to me he does look like he has leghorn in there though, here are a couple of pic. I got off a chicken sight mine look this so I think your may be a mix

These are not mine, I got the pics off the web, but silvers are just like these.
My seabrights are way smaller even than the Silkies I have.

I think that if your Silver laced seabright is only 9 weeks she should turn out still banty size but larger than the normal SLS's

yeah the more I look at his pictures he does look like he is part leghorn, and you could be right about the momma too, his mother was a brown Egg layer his earlobes appear red so one of his parents was a brown egg laying breed. his leg color on my screen looks to be yellow and beak yellow both leghorn traits well the white ones anyway. Are buff orpingtons all the hens he had?
