what does lockdown mean exactly when incubating eggs

uh oh, i have been candling daily. This is my first time trying to hatch, I hope I haven't done too much harm. We are on day 23 and although all of my duck eggs are moving when candled the brown chicken eggs are difficult to see through. I will not touch from this point on but should I be able to hear them from outside the incubator?

Omg I didn't know about lockdown it day 21 and I didn't do that I keep it with a lamp is it dead I'm scared

In 1994 I had an incubator from work and borrowed it to hatch Silkie chicks also from work. I didn't know anything, it had an auto turner too. I stuck 45 eggs in twice for the kids to watch hatch. I absolutely didn't know anything about hatching, lockdown, humidity and such! I had 100% hatch both times lol. I guess ignorance is bliss!
