What does "lockdown" mean when incubating eggs?

YES they should be fat end up. Would turn them over as soon as you can. Pointy end up will cause you all sorts of problems. They will develop in the wrong position and won't be able to pip into the air cell at the fat end of the egg.

You should be ok with only being day 4. Give the link barbiegirl posted a read it has everything you need to know about incubating. Chicken and duck eggs are pretty much the same apart from the number of days of incubation. Good luck
