What does this behavior mean?

Few of my friendly hens like to peck @my pant legs to be petted or picked up. They all normally crowd up against the run door when they see me 100 ft away.
Regarding food and water I have them all available in the run and coop (2 of each in the run & coop)

My girls have food available all the time, it doesn't stop them trying to get me to give them more, they are programmed to think that my appearance means they might get thrown something

I don't get mobbed and pecked, though, just the random examination for tidbits.

Honestly, I don't care what they're thinking. Pecking me is not acceptable. It may not be out and out aggression, but I don't let animals put their mouths on me. Plus, I want to be able to move about the coop with out worrying about tripping over a bird or stepping on someone. I'd start using my foot to shoo them out of the way. They can be trained to move just like any animal.
