What does this look like to you?

I noticed that one or both of my Buff Laced Polish hens appear to have a pecking injury above their beaks and while examining them I noticed what appears to be irritated skin and nodules of some sort. Are these nodules inflamed follicles or whatever the opening is that the feathers emerge from? Do I need to do anything for this or just keep an eye on them?

I can't amagin what happened, if it were me I would seperate them and put some neosporin on it.

Polish hens have a V comb. Sometimes it it's separated and looks like nodules. Yours looks like their comb. Mine have very red combs usually but they are youngish.almost 2 I think lol

Thanks for the info. I didn’t even think about that being the start of the comb but that makes perfect sense since the others girls (different breeds) are just starting to grow theirs. I thought maybe the Polish hens didn’t have combs due to their fancy hair doos.

My Sylvia (in my profile picture) has two little reddish nodules as her comb, so that’s probably the case with yours (but keep an eye on it juuuuust in case ).
