What does this mean?

When these geese have these ruffled up feathers what does that mean? I been seeing a lot lately. The ones I seen before looked normal but now has them ruffled up feathers. Anyone know what this means?

Well they're done molting now because they are all flying but some have those ruffled up raggidy feathers

I have no idea unless they are lacking in something
