I have two hens that sit for long periods of time with their mouths open. What does this mean?
Depending on where you are, they could be too hot.
I was working on cutting back some trees to give them more sun. The temp. was about 73 here.

they pount like a dog. they r letting in air and trying to cool off after being used to the cold weather.
If they are panting already at 73 degrees what am I going to do when it's93?

That's cool' they're right by my garden.
Just a thought...what are they eating? Too much scratch I've heard can raise their body temp.
