what does this mean?

    I know that when a chicken squats it means an egg is a few weeks away. i have a 21week old ee named marylinn that for.the past.three days sees me coming and runs to me and squats. please tell me she doesn t think i am her rooster.

    Mine do that too. I pet them and then they run away and ruffle their feathers. They seem satisfied with that.

    You are the best rooster substitute that she can find. The girl is in love.

    It sounds like she is ready to lay some eggs! I've had hens lay before squatting and vice versa! [​IMG] Enjoy the pet!

    How funny that she is squatting for me [​IMG]. and here I thought she was the alpha and was not going to lay due to taking over rooster duties. I can't wait to see what she lays. She is my only EE that is of laying age. I hope it is any color but brown. I can't help but burst into laughter every time she does it. [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG]

    I only have one hen laying right now and she just started last week, I did hear someone in the nest box when closed the coop up tonight.
