12x12 coop? That is 144 sq ft. 144/4 sq ft = 36 ducks.

We are changing the detentions to 12 by 12. How many ducks can that hold? Thanks for all of the pics you guys sent! They were very helpful.
How close is that 12x12 pen to your house?
I have a 25x25 pen for when I have to pen up my girls. I currently have 2 ducks and 2 chickens. I did have 5 ducks and 3 chickens in there and they were not penned often, so not an issue. They started getting penned more when it was 2 chickens and 4 ducks and it just seemed to not be enough space for long term confinement for them all. My girls are penned for about half the day as I have a dog that thinks it is fun the pluck the chickens....
Mine free range, so they aren't the biggest fans of being penned up.
But lots of people have lots more birds in their pens, even when penned 24/7.
If the op is referring to a 12x12 run/pen then that would hold 14 ducks given 10 sq ft per duck, but really you should give them 12 sq ft if that is all they have access to which would hold 12. More space the better.
@happy duck is the dimensions given a combined coop/run space?
Ok. So, then enough space for 12-14 ducks. How many do you have now?The coop will be attached to the outside. So I will have 12 by 12 all as run space.
Well, you would have to have a big enough coop/house to accommodate them.I have 4 duck now. The coop...I have no idea. We are getting a large dog house from some friends. I don't know when we are going to get it, but when I do I will let you guys know. It is very large. If we needed something bigger in the long run we can expand the dog house or get something new.
I am sooo happy I can have 12-14 ducks!!!!!!! Thanks for all the help!!!![]()
