What does your dog dislike/hate?

Some dogs are upset by the noise of a thunderstorm, in which case you can sometime desensitize them by playing a CD of thunderstorm sounds, gradually increasing the volume from very low, to loud, over time depending on how long it takes them to get used to it. You do it in steps, increasing volume only when the current one is not bothering them anymore. Other dogs are sensitive the the actual atmospheric pressure changes that come with storms, and that's where the thunder-shirts can help. I've had one of each, the sound sensitive dog was easier to rehab than the pressure sensitive one, in my case. I had a huge GSD that would knock furniture over in her attempts to hide. We usually had to crate her and that helped also, her crate was always her safe space.
Also, I've been feeding raw for over a decade, never had an issue, they eat from the same source we do.

@TwoCrows, 'thunder shirt' works to keep her from digging into closets or under beds to simply panting and pacing. She actually comes looking for it before thunder is audible to us.

If she comes looking for it, it must work! My boy stresses, paces and pants too, especially when thunder is present and I wanted more info before I purchased one. I am going to look into one, I saw them recently on chewy.com

Thanks!

Sophie, my Schnoodle, is a bit wary of my chickens. They have grown quite a bit since hatching in the kitchen last June :plbb
After taking four of the bolshy cockerels back to the ‘egg donor’ last week, I’m left with my desired trio (Silkies) and the littlest rooster left has decided to change names. ‘Sheldon’ is now ‘Kung Pu’ and he protects his girls :p
SO, Sophie steps to one side if he’s around:wee
Sooty, my rescue, DOES NOT! He’s the bravest, best dog everrrrr :love
I live in Cumbria, UK and I crossed over on the ferry to Northern Ireland for him. He’d been locked in a yard:mad:
A friend on Facebook told me about him as she had seen Sophie Schnoodles Page. He was about two years old they reckon. Got him on the 29th October 2013. AND HE IS FABULOUS :love

Oh ok. I guess maybe I shouldn’t have said anything without a back strory. I had read somewhere about how lots of people do raw meat diets and some people got sick and some died but I guess the situation is different for everyone. ;)

actually, humans are more likely to get salmonella from handling kibble than from feeding a raw diet. The #1 cause of dog food recalls is testing positive from salmonella.

Normal precautions for a raw diet are the same as handling raw food for humans - wash your hands and wash the counters where you place meat.
