Hi all, I haven't posted here in a while, but couldn't resist this thread. We are working on buying a place in Southwestern Wisconsin. I can't retire from the Air Force for another year, but when I came across the listing for this place I couldn't resist. We are working out details of a lease back to the current owner until next summer, when I can retire and move back to Wisconsin, and we should close on it at the end of this month.
The house is seven years old and replaced a beautiful two story colonial that burnt in 2000. The small barn is solid but could use some new shingles and siding. The steel building to the rear of the property was an equipment shed that has been converted to a 2500 hen organic layer operation, with automatic feeders, waterers, and egg collection belts. They produced 58,000 dozen organic, brown, omega-3 eggs last year...
