Yes, I have had 4 at a time, and from the house been able to name each Roo by their crow. How much more the hens must recognize them! My Alpha even sits outside the broody hen's nest making a purring noise repetitively for 5 minutes or more - It looks and sounds to me like he's imprinting his voice on the chicks. It's amazing! For awhile I could actually tell which crow was which from each of my roos. They are different and I believe the hens know who’s talking when they crow!
I swear Pedro is saying like "Let me outtaaaaa here!!!Our two, early in the morning say, open the damn chicken door!
The first time I saw my Rooster do that, I was so confused! Is he okay? Why is he nestling in a corner? Maybe he's sick?Yes! It’s so adorable when they do this! Mine always does it in a fresh hay area like hey look this is a great place to lay an egg!
He was given to me as a young adult. I asked him what his name was and he said, "I am Rojo el Magnifico!" "Oh, so Big Red, eh?" I replied. "No," he insisted, stomping a foot, "I am Rojo! El Magnifico!" I nodded. "Right, gotcha. I just have one question, Rojo the Magnificent. Where'd you get the accent?" To which he flipped his gorgeous train, flapped his wings and strutted away, clearly indicating that he was done talking to the likes of me.I just found him on one of your posts! He's HUGE! and a very handsome roo. You can see why he is so egotistical![]()
