Hello, I know a lot of things about ducks . The other day I realized I know nothing about eggs and ducks. So here are my questions:

Do ducks lay every day?
Do they benefit from egg shell hardening supplements?

*I don't even care if they don't lay, they are my pets*
does one duck egg equal one chicken egg?
Can i take the eggs away right after they leave their area?
*sorry for all the q's*
is it good for them if i cook their eggs and feeds them back to the ducks?
*i know they don't lay all year. don't know NOTHING about eggs?lol*
I have a khaki campbell, welsh harlequin, cayuga, black swedish.
What color eggs will all my babies lay?
Thank you for your help :)

Hello, I know a lot of things about ducks . The other day I realized I know nothing about eggs and ducks. So here are my questions: Do ducks lay every day? Some do. Do they benefit from egg shell hardening supplements? Yes, but free choice. However, mature ducks can eat chicken layer feed. Mine do not. *I don't even care if they don't lay, they are my pets* does one duck egg equal one chicken egg? Larger, except for call ducks or bantam duck breeds Can i take the eggs away right after they leave their area? Yup *sorry for all the q's* is it good for them if i cook their eggs and feeds them back to the ducks? You can, I guess. *i know they don't lay all year. don't know NOTHING about eggs?lol* I have a khaki campbell, welsh harlequin, cayuga, black swedish. What color eggs will all my babies lay? Cayuga eggs start out very dark, sometimes black, early in the laying cycle. They are progressively lighter as the duck continues to lay, but never completely get to white shells. The duck will take a break for a couple of months, generally, then start up again. The first eggs of THAT cycle will start out dark, too. And so on and so forth. Thank you for your help :)

I had 2 mallard runners and they laid everyday by 8 am - sometimes in the pool - the eggs were green and are aprox. 1/3 bigger than a large chicken egg. do not know about other breeds.
