I picked 'other' so here's my explanation! I was just trying to learn everything I could about all my pets. I went on a huge learning spree and found BYC that way. I stalked byc for a while before deciding I should just make an account and join in! I was hesitant to make an account before because the site seemed confusing to me at first. After watching it for a while I figured it couldn't be too complicated. It was a little hard to understand at first but I quickly learned the layout and functions of the site, especially with all the helpful people <3

I fell in LOVE with BYC because not only can I spam the duck forum with Gil updates for people that care to hear them, I can also get all the info I need about ducks. In addition, there's forums that cover my other hobbies! I am super into fish tank keeping and under the hobbies forum there is always someone that can lend some advice for tank keeping, ferret/hedgehog keeping and even my cat and dog keeping! It's an all in 1 stop for everything I wanted to learn. I am so grateful I did find BYC because I learned so much that will be beneficial for the quality of life for my pets. They're all solely pets. Yes, I do get eggs from duck and breed some of the fish, but they're all just pets. That being said, I care about their happiness just as much as mine and BYC has made a great place for me to expand my knowledge on everything all pets.

My family looked at this site deciding to get chickens. We googled something like “how to take care of chickens”

I really can't remember specifics as it has been years but i'm sure it had to do with housing. Like 21hens i lurked for years.... learning before I actually got chickens.
