What exactly is a Show Girl?

Ok, in all my years of chickens, I have never heard of a Show Girl until last week. And I have to say, after I got over the initial horror, I am intrigued. What exactly is a Show Girl? A NN and a Silkie? How long have they been around? Are the boys even called Show Girls? In my defense, we didnt have the internet up until a few years ago, and I was on a chicken break until recently. lol. But if I have the chance, I would most definitely like to get a Show Girl hen. I think they are pretty neat looking.

Turken x Silkie. Then the offspring from that mating is breed back to a silkie for several generations.
It has taken many generations to get to where they are now.
Yes,both sexs are called SHOWGIRL.
They are not new ,they have been out for many years.
There are many people on here that raise Showgirls,including myself.
They are really Awesome !!!

i love, Love, LOVE my showgirls! i think they look like elegant swans, and they are the sweetest things. i have silkies and showgirls (and a few other types of chickens) but would fill my backyard with Showgirls, if my husband would let me.
