What food do you/spouse refuse to even try?

The number one on my list that I forgot to add was fugu, Japanese Puffer Fish. Almost every tv whodunit has killed someone with this sushi meal. I try to stay away from the poisonous fish. One more is a barbeque sandwich left on the seat of my truck for more than a day, bad results there too.

Frog legs, dear meat, shark, scrapple, horse, octopus, snail, caviar....and the list goes on....lol

any type of animal innards... all sea foods... frog legs... wild animals... stuff like that

I cook tripe for my husband.

The smell is horrendous.

Interesting that this has mostly turned into a thread about what we don't like, rather than what we would not try. Obviously, we don't know whether we would like it if we did not try it.

I am not likely to try eating anything that is alive, or still moving, like snake heart or octopus legs, when served. And I would not try birds' nest soup. I am not interested in trying most insect foods, but would not necessarily refuse them, and have eaten some.

That's about it.

I've gotten alot braver about trying (and liking) different foods, but if my nose doesn't like it, my mouth refuses to open! So things like liver, potted meat, vienna sausages, tripe or really hot, spicy dishes are out.
Anchovies and horseradish are also out!

And by the way, did our dads really think we'd like the stuff they forced on us, or what? What a stupid use of power!
