What gender am I?

Being a city boy now in the country I thought some chickens were a good idea. But did this slicker get taken for a ride? One RIR and one white sussex. I've noticed the RIR (Berta) seems to size-up the sussex (Jeannie) and she/he responds in kind but does not seem to instigate. They are about 4 to 5 months old and no eggs yet.

they could be doing that to establish a pecking order. Do you have any pics of them? that would help alot.

They're both hens

and just to let you know, its a 'light' sussex

Looks to me that you have two pretty pullets.
