These are buff orps or buff orp/RIR crosses. (Which do you think?) They are 4 or 5 weeks old now. I posted them in a thread with Welsummers several weeks ago. The Welsummers were all roos except one and have been rehomed on a free range farm with another BYC'er.
I'm 95% sure this is a rooster. He was laying down unresponsive the next morning after we got them, and I hand fed him and nursed him back to health. I am in love with him, he's so sweet!
He has blue eyes, that's not from flash.
See how tame he is? He is enjoying this, not being harmed. LOL.
Here is the other, who *might* be a pullet? It has a smaller comb and wattles and also smaller spurs on the legs. It also has a very fat round body shape. This one isn't as tame, but still fairly calm compared to those Welsummer roos.
I think this one is obese! It was in with a sickly chick and it ate more than its fair share of food...i moved it back to the bigger brooder so hopefully now it will eat a little less...
