What Gender is My White Silkie Chick?

Post pics at 2-3 months, make sure to show comb and a side view with legs. I have about 20 silkies and they can be tuff to sex. My little Christmas baby, Holly, crowed for the first time last week. Holly is now Harley. Her mom had me stumped til she laid at 7 months. But then I have a 4 week old I know is a cockerel, but have no idea on the other 8-4 week olds Silkies are really tricky. Will you be able to keep it if a cockerel?

That's so sad. I'm guessing that the dog finished it off. Can't blame the dog. It's their nature and they haven't been trained around chickens. I had a super sweet Chow/Shepard who thought chickens were squeeky toys. All you can do is keep the chickens well caged, away from the dogs.

So, what is your own opinion on how it happened?

Chick jumped out, landed on the floor, the dog was attracted by the movement/noise and attacked it.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It was the dog, Yorkie is short for Yorkshire terrier and terriers were bred to hunt even though they are tiny and sweet pets.
