What gender is this silkie?

    Anyone know what gender the tan silkie is? She is a year old and no eggs and no crowing

    could you please post a photo of the silkie head on, with crest pulled back to show entire comb. Seems to have a very 'bulgie" comb for a pullet, usually theirs are flatter than a male.

    Also if it is a roo, it will not crow in the presence of the alpha rooster, or risk getting attacked.

    ps the tan silkie is showing redder feathers over the wings - the "red sign of doom," = Cockerel in most breeds.

    ha! cute! hard to tell! s/he is a tricky one! comb and crest are throwing me of! I'm just going to leave it as pullet for now!

    Update: She is a hen. She started doing the egg squat!
