What gender, please? :-) 6-week-old barnyard mixes

Thanks again, all of you. Interesting point, Popsicle! You know, I hadn't even thought about that! I'll have to check with my friend and see if any of the other chicks are showing peacombs and/or beards/muffs. I know at least a couple of the other chicks had very definite greenish legs, but I think I recall all having what so far looked to be single combs, and I don't think any bearding (at least not yet). And I know she collected eggs from several different mamas for each hatch. Huh. The whole genetics area is fascinating to me! :)

Pea combs genes are dominant, single comb is recessive so if the hen is pure Ameraucana the chicks would inherit the pea comb. However if the hen was cross bred with a recessive single comb gene ie (Pp) then crossing with a single comb roo (pp) has a 2:4 chance of yielding a single comb.
