what hapened to QuailshaQ????

Still waiting for an article that says that a blacklight is more beneficial than natural sunlight, or a quality artificial full spectrum light source. I'l probably be waiting quite a while for documentation that shows that a blacklight will make a quail step around an egg rather than kick it.

You could probably use the quality full spectrum light source and add a black light on. It was only a suggestion. I am not telling the world to switch over

I did notice less egg breakage and the birds don't fight. I also use the dust pans. The black light is not beneficial alone, it is a supplement. Of course there will be a quail that will smush her egg

I will ask my pal for the article on it though if she has it and is ok for me to post here.

Was anybody interested in helping me put together some some pics (of colors/variations) of bobwhite, coturnix, and cbbq, for a possible sticky? We could also do some pics of scaled, gambles, california/ valley, Mountain, montezuma, and harlequin, if that sounds like a good idea. I think this could be valuable for alot of newbies, and folks that want to learn more about what species/ varieties that they havn't kept, look like. We just need to make sure and credit (and get permission) any pics we use that don't belong to us. Quail lady I think you could be a big help on this one, I know where some pics are of some new/rare bob colors, that I think I can get permission to use. Anybody?

I thought I posted already a color variation for coturnix and cbbq? But I can help out with others as well if you need be. Just let me know and I will chime in.

ETA: are you looking at types of coturnix and such? Like the Old World and New World Quail?
