It was MOST likely a temp issue, as others have indicated. When I incubate, even though I've done it MANY MANY times now, I put 3 separate temp units into my bator, and my bator is digital (Brinsea). So, I actually have 4 different units, and I average them to set the bator to where I want it, weighing the bator's digital reading more heavily.
I think lots of your issue could be that you just haven't done a ton of hatches in this bator yet, and each bator has its own idiosyncrasies. The GOOD news is that your eggs did develop! Can you imagine how distraight you'd be if you cracked them and there was nothing in there? So, look at this as a positive learning experience! The Salmon Fav appears to have died maybe day 15-16 - so, it almost made it! There are many, many websites that will actually tell you what may have happened if they die at day ___, or if they have such-and-such type of deformity. Excellent that you're searching for answers and wanting to make each hatch better - KUDOS to you!
