WHAT happened to her / his comb?! It looks dug out

This one mo old chick looks like it’s comb has been dug out. We only put them in the basement a few days ago —- bc there are like 10 chicks and it became SO dusty in the living room... WHAT happened 😭

No, it does look like something happened to the comb. I'm not sure what though. If it's not bleeding or irritated looking then I guess you just keep an eye on it and let it be. It will probably grow up just fine. Heck, I've had leghorn chicks peck at the toes of my Speckled Sussex chicks and ended up with 2 Sussex girls that are now missing 2 toe tips each. They get along fine without them, they're tougher than you think.
