What happened to my Dog

Did you have to bring your dog to the vet for this? Was it deep? Did he need stiches or anything?

Can't wait to go to vet, only 2.5 more hrs to go... Then I will know what happened for sure, I hope.. The vet should be able to tell by looking at it?
Last time he was at vet, to get fixed, they had to tranqulize him, before sedating him.. Cause he freaked out when they started to shave him.. I wasn't there though, cause it was a day sugeary.. Hopefully this visit goes more smooth for my baby boy.. Maybe they will just looked at it and say, or that will heal over by self.. Here's some antibiodics, go ahead home $200.00 dollers please... That's what i'm hoping it cost..

Our vet costs are pretty high in Canada compaired to USA
Alot of my friends cross the bridge for vet work... Cause there's such a huge difference.. I like having a local vet, that I know someone is on call 24/7. And they know me and my dog...

I did. The skin was torn so there was an open wound and you could see the muscle under it. The vet used superglue to fix the edges of it together!! They said if it didn't hold he would have to come back for a stitch or two but it did

If it's small enough they may just bandage it, but that costs more because you have to go back to get the dressings changed.

I thought the superglue was weird but it didn't hurt him to get glued, didn't have to come back for stitches out or anything. They did give him a once off shot of antibiotics though.

Superglue was originally developed during the Viet Nam war to seal small wounds closed instead of using stitches. It works great on dogs, cats, and horses, too!

I was out riding with my dog once (twenty years ago) and she took a shortcut home. I found a wound like you describe on her neck. Found an exit wound on the throat side, just off center enough to miss all the important plumbing. Someone shot my dog. She recovered with just a half an aspirin and four days of help in and out to go potty, but STILL!!! Check for an exit wound. My dog was a Belgian Tervuren, which may have been mistaken for a coyote. Yours has the same "wolfie" look.

Just got home from vet... He got 15 stuters on the inside.. They will disovle..
Got antibiodics for not to sure how long? a whole bottle full anyways...
and 3 liqued, 24 hr/dosing, pain meds.

not to let him play for a week.. Keep him quite... That should be fun!!!

I'm so glad he ok... $345.00 Could've been worse just wish I knew where /what happened.

Vet said he probley ran into a stick or fenceing

Doesn't think it was a coon or anything.. Cause it was a clean cut... And only one, wound...
