What happened to this egg?

Checked my quail hutch this morning and got this egg??

whats going on

will it hatch if incubated?
if not can is still be eaten?
or should I throw it?

Not quite sure what I'm looking at. Seeing it next to a normal egg might give a better idea of size/color.

Nothing wrong with the size the egg is like this light brown color the whole way around. With only a small bit of clear white shell.

Ok the egg is a grayish color. with only a small bit of white at the top.

Are they Coturnix or ? How old are the birds?
