Cross a silkie with another breed? I only have 2 chicks..... no certainty what they will be. One is black silkie other is (best guess) some form of Mille Fleur d'Uccle. If I happen to end up with a roo and a hen...... what would I get if I were to let them hatch a few??? Would they exhibit traits from both parents? How does sex-linking work? Does it only apply to certain breeds? Is it taboo to breed such mongrel chicks???? Has anyone here crossed these two breeds before? Any pics??? Inquiring minds need to know

I have a black silkie X black bantam cochin... she a pretty little girl.. solid black, shape and feathering like cochin, has black skin,5 toes and big black eyes like silkie, she has what looks like a shot pig tail on her head... you can look at her and tell she has silkie in her... Most of all, she's friendly and lays an egg everyday, except sundays, she takes that day off...

you will end up with traits from both.....
