I was just wondering if anyone had someone who shared some great advice with you and if it stuck with you. No matter what the advice was ( and yes we know don't eat yellow snow

) and maybe why it stuck or maybe you wish you had listened to the advice after all. As for a couple of mine. ..my mom always wanted us to be compassionate and caring for others and she always told us pretty is as pretty does and not to blow out someone elses candle to make yours shine, and those words have stuck with me.

If in 5 years it is not going to effect anything, don't worry about it.

A wise man once told me this when I was distraught over some seemingly horrible immediate situation. I thought about it and saw that he was right. It wasn't the end of the world and worries and tears were not going to change it. Looking back now, I can't even remember what the problem was at the time but his advice has stuck with me.

when in doubt accelerate

Dont think to hard it could strain your brain

Large toys = happy adults

All words of wisdom that I learned fom my late DH

I actually learned so much from him that he is the largest force that changed me into the person I am today, although I still "think" too much. Ahhh i can see that this is gonna be a missing AJ day....

My mom told me "You reap what you sew"

It has really made me stop and think about things I do, also has comforted me when people have treated me badly, I know it's gonna come back on them.

when you are feeling badly about your own life or situation..no matter how bad it is .. just stop it and take that energy and use it to do something good for someone else

I cut this out of Dear Abby when I was a teenager and carried it in my wallet all these years- I'm 53 now

Talk happiness. the world is sad enough
without your woe. No path is wholly rough.
Look for the places that are smooth and clear.
And speak of those, to rest the weary ear
Of earth, so hurt by one continuous strain
Of human discontent and grief and pain.
