"No Regrets!" From my DH, who always takes the time to listen, play, hang out and just BE. 'Cause when you are lying on your deathbed, you wont look back and say, "I wish I had got more done".

"play with your kids!!" DH. 'Cause someday they will be all grown up and they will be too busy for you.

"no one will remember in twenty years how clean your house was!" DH.

"Things are for using!" MIL, 'cause I always want to save stuff for later.

"Be real. No one likes a hypocrite." DH. hmmmm see who has influenced me the most....

Ok well mine is a bit on the humor side but my mom had a morphing one to toss at me thru the years:
"It is not about who you are it is:"
as a teenager"-what you wear" (insert sarcastic mom smile)
young adult-"who you know"
adult-"what you know"
now-"what you do with what you know"
I think who you love falls into place somewhere in the mix but who listens to moms anyway.

One thing my Aunty told me when I was a teenager was to travel, experience the world and the people in it. She worked in a nursing home for many years and said the eldery residents fondly talked about places they had been, things they had seen in life.
