What has been the best (life) advice anyone has ever given you?

This was told to us at a wedding shower: very true.

"Put him above your wishes", then she looked at the Rev. and said "Put her above your wishes "
and then with a charming smile she said..."and both of you put God first, and you'll have a happy marriage"
It really does work....

All from my dad...
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.(we always got this one when we didn't get the lawn cut or the garage cleaned out, or whatever we promised to do that day. lol)
Keep the Faith.
Respect your elders.

My Grandmother would always say:
You will attract more flies with honey than with vinegar. Course that was when I was fresh.

My DH says that all the time!

One of my favorites is...

The Lord wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
(No offense to anyone, I just like it)

And a very smart friend of mine always tells me

If you sell yourself short, the world won't pay more than it has to.

One of my favorites is:
Expect the worst, hope for the best and you will never be disappointed.

One of my boyfriends bosses said when he broke a machine "Well you gotta break some eggs to make an omelet."

"Never pull a gun unless you plan to kill someone."
"Watch his eyes and hit first. The man who throws the first punch usually wins the fight." My dad
"And when you stand praying, forgive." Jesus Christ
