What has Zelda gotten herself into?

Do chickens who go broody in the middle of October know what they are doing? would she be able to take care of her babies this winter in south georgia?

My hen is also broody, she started about 10 days ago and will also have a Nov hatch, I sure hope they know what they are getting themselfs into...... I'm in NH so the winters are cold cold cold up here, I'm sure they will soon figure it out, as long as they have a nice dry area of the coop they should be fine !!!

As much as people say chickens are stupid, I find just the opposite, so I will go ahead an assume that if she is broody, she can hatch and take care of her chicks.

Lots of younger hens are going broody this year, One of my hens did and shortly after that 2 more, Hope the others dont catch wind of it or im gonna be in big trouble.
