What have we gotten ourselves into? 😅

My husband and I just agreed to foster some ducklings for a local nonprofit all-animal sanctuary here in Tampa. When they get older, they'll return to the sanctuary where they'll have their own lake, protection, and possibly be able to join an existing flock.

When we arrived, we expected 5 ducklings.

When we left, we had 14 ducklings and 8 chicks 🤣🤣🤣

Wish us luck.

PS - Our adopted Muscovy, Rue, is OBSESSED with them.

Are all the ducklings Muscovy? if so no one will even know they are there unless you tell.
We think they're all mixes. Def. 2 Pekins and at least 1 call duck. They all peep right now... do Muscovy ducklings peep?

Either way, the kids next door watch our ducks through their upstairs window and frequently scream, "I see you got 4 more!" I'm like shhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Most the babies returned to the sanctuary a few weeks ago with the exception of all the chickens and 3 ducks, who were locally adopted. I've attached photos of their first day back home.

The other four are muscovies. We still have them. The sanctuary isn't equipped to take them and we are very cautious about who adopts them (so far NO ONE). They are so sweet, and we need to make sure wherever they go, they are safe. It's legal to shoot them in Florida if they wander. So. Now we have our own ducks plus 4 muscovies that look like vultures... it's only a matter of time before someone nearby starts wondering what's died on our yard 😅 🤦‍♀️
