"What Have You Learned About Poultry Since Joining BYC?"
Well, I'd have to say I grew up with chickens, they were always around so nothing new but they were either as we had Rhode Island Reds, dad always had rose comb. Or some people around here had barred rocks always thought they were cool cause we never had them. Sometimes I'd see someone with some meat chickens but not often that was it never heard of any other breeds...Till the internet came out and many yrs later we got it and a computer. Found myself researching chickens, BYC kept popping up. I think the biggest thing I learned from BYC was the vast array of chicken breeds, and colors of eggs.
My first order from a hatchery, brown leghorns, polish, wellsummers and easter eggers. Had one Easter egger laid a dark olive egg. Pretty funny showed my dad a dozen of her eggs in a carton. He says "they look rotton!."

Gave lots of those eggs to in laws, MIL said they were a big hit when grandkids came to visit, always wanted green eggs and ham, while the eggs themselves weren't green the shells were lol .
